Installation

Ventilation should not be impeded or limited by covering the ventilation slots with items such as newspapers, tablecloths, curtains, etc. At least 10cm of space should be left around the apparatus for sufficient ventilation.

Place the television in a position where the screen is not exposed to direct sunlight. Keep the product away from high magnetic fields (such as near an amplifier speaker) to avoid affecting the tint.

Assembling the Stand/Wall Mounting

If you need to remove or assemble the stand, please read the following:

  • Before attaching/detaching the stand, be sure to turn the TV off.
  • Before performing any work, spread cushioning out over the base area to lay the TV on. This will prevent it from being damaged.

Wall  Mounting Instructions

Your LED TV is able to accommodate wall mounting with the use of a wall mount bracket (bracket and screws not supplied with the LED TV) and the mounting holes on the back of the unit. We recommend removing the TV stand prior to wall mounting the TV.

1. Fasten the mounting screws and sleeves together into the 4 screw holes on the cover.
2. Fasten the wall mounting bracket with screws on the wall.

Pairing the USB Dongle

If you feel that the TV is not receiving the air mouse or keyboard inputs, it is possible that the USB dongle is not paired with the remote properly.
Please follow these steps to repair them again.

Antenna Connection

The antenna input impedance of this unit is 75ohm. VHF/UHF 75ohm coaxial cable can be connected to the antenna jack directly. If the antenna cable is a 300ohm parallel flat feeder cable, you will need to use the 3OOohm/75ohm converter to connect the antenna cable to the antenna jack. For details, see below.

Basic Operation

Turning the TV on and off

Picture Mode: the TV has preset picture settings (soft/vivid/user/dynamic/standard) that are preset at the factory. You can set your own individual preferences under the USER setting.
Backlight: Adjust the backlight level.
Aspect Ratio: Select the picture size that best corresponds to your viewing requirements. Colour Temp: Change the warmth (red) or cool (blue levels of the image.
Noise Reduction: Remove ”noise” in the image. (Note: this is not available in VGA mode).

Sound

Sound Mode: you can select from some preset sound settings to suit your broadcast. There are five sound settings (Standard/music/movie/sports/user) to select from.
Equalizer: you can adjust the sound settings to suit your particular requirements, as shown to the right.
Balance: adjust the balance between the left and right speakers.

The auto-volume will adjust the volume to ensure that the audio is maintained at a comfortable level.
Surround Sound: you can turn surround sound on and off.
SPDIF Mode: enable/disable SPDIF mode. This is only available in HDMI/TV mode. HDMI: enable/disable HDMI sound mode.

Press ▲/▼to select the ”Auto Search” option. You can select the country from the list view, then set the ”search type” option. The number of discovered channels will be displayed onscreen. If you set the ”Tune Type” to DTV+ATV, once the TV has completed scanning the digital range, it will continue on to search ATV channels, then all channels will be stored in memory.

In the ATV/DTV source, you can choose ”DTV Manual Search”.   If your antenna type is DVB-C you can use the ◄/► buttons to choose the frequency. If the antenna is DVB-T type, then you can use the ◄/► buttons or input numbers to choose the channel.  Then press the OK button to search. The TV will store the DTV channel if there is a DTV signal present.

Program

You can use the buttons to choose ”program edit” and enter the menu, then press the colored button on the remote control to skip, delete and lock programs, or to add programs to your favorites list.
Delete: you can press the RED button to enter the DEL menu. You can then choose the channel you want to delete, then press RED again to delete.
Skip: you can press the GREEN button to skip the channel. The channel will be skipped when you change channels and it will be skipped in the channel list.
Lock: if you do not want children or guests viewing a certain channel without permission,  you can press the BLUE button to lock the channel. Once the channel is locked and the lock system is enabled, you will need a password to view the channel.
Move: you can use the move button to move the channel in the sequence of channels.
Fav: you can press YELLOW in the menu to add channels to your favorite list. You can then press FAV on the remote control to choose your favorite channels.

NOTE: Signal Quality/Signal Strength (DTV Only: Unlike analogue channels, which can vary in reception quality, digital channels must have perfect reception quality or you will not receive them at all. Unlike analogue channels, you are not able fine tune a digital channel. If the signal strength indicates that the signal is weak, a possible solution is to adjust your antenna to increase the signal strength. Continue to adjust the antenna until you find the best position with the strongest signal.

OAD (Over Alr Download)

This option will enable or disable system software updates from DTV broadcasts.

  2. Enter your 4-digit password to set the old Choose any 4-digits for your new password and enter them. As soon as the 4 digits are entered, the cursor will skip to the ”Confirm Password” section. Re-enter the same 4 digits and your new password will be memorized. (The default password is OOOO. The master password is 1980.)

CEC

Consumer Electronics Control (CEC is a HDMI feature designed to allow the user to control and command up to 15 CEC enabled devices that are connected via HDMI, by using only one of their remote controls (for example, controlling the television, a set-top box and a DVD player using only the remote control of the TV.

Auto Standby

This option is used when CEC is enabled to judge whether the TV itself should go into stand-by mode when the linked device goes into stand-by mode.

Auto Power On

This option is used when CEC is enabled to judge whether the TV itself should share the Power On command when sent from a linked device.

ARC

This option is used when CEC is enabled to enable the TV to send audio to the device linked to it when in HDMI mode. (Note: ARC is only available in HDMI 1.)

Device List

This option will display a list of all suitable CEC devices that are linked to the TV.

On-time allows you to set a time for the TV set to turn itself on from standby mode. You can set the desired source to be displayed automatically when the TV starts up in the SOURCE menu.

Off Time

The off-time option allows you to set a time for the TV to turn itself off.

Sleep Timer

You can set the timer until the TV goes into sleep mode (Off, 1Omin, 2omin, 3omin, 6omin, 9Omin, 12omin, 18omin, 24omin).

Notes:

  • The sleep timer you have set will be cancelled if the TV turns off or if there is a power
  • When the time left to sleep is less than 6O seconds, a reminder will appear on-screen and you can press any button to cancel the

PVR

WARNING

  • Before connecting your USB device to the TV, please back up your files to prevent them from damage or loss of
  • A USB disk must be formatted when first used for Any existing data on the disk will be deleted during the formatting process. Please back up your disk if you do not want to lose this data. We recommend the use of a dedicated disk for PVR use only. Do not disconnect the disk or power during formatting.

Note: make sure your USB device is compatible with the TV and able to support PVR recording. Select Disk: press OK to enter the submenu, then press ◄/► to select the disk.

Time Shift Size: press ◄/► to choose the size.

Format Disk: press OK to enter the format submenu. The disk must be formatted when first used for PVR. Do not disconnect the disk or turn the power off during formatting. When formatting your disk, a progress bar will appear on the display.

Note the larger your device, the longer it will take to format the disk. Speed Check: test the disk speed.
Once the disk is ready, it can be recorded to in DTV mode.

Time Shift

In DTV mode, press ► /ΙΙ to pause the DTV program, then press it again to continue play. The length of time a program can be paused depends upon the setting in the PVR file system. Press BACK to stop the time shift.

Press the PLAY button to continue playing the program from the point at which it was paused. Note: Time Shift  will stop if you change channels, change inputs  or go into standby mode while in Time Shift mode.

Instant Recording

Select the desired channel then press the button on the remote control to start recording the current broadcast. A progress bar will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.
Recording will stop when you press the BACK button, then the recorded file will be stored on the external USB device automatically.

Note: You can only watch channels on the same frequency as the program being recorded. If you try to change to another channel, or to exit to the main interface, a message will appear prompting you to continue or not. The system will stop recording if you change channels or confirm that you wish to continue.

Recording In Standby Node

The unit is able to record while in standby mode.

Note: start a recording, then press the power button. A message will display asking if you wish to go into standby mode, stop recording or cancel.

In DTV mode, press the GUIDE button to enter the electronic program guide. On the guide menu, press RED to go to the ”record” setting.

In the guide menu, press OK to go to ”reminder settings”. Press  ◄/► to adjust the scheduled time, then press OK to save the setting.
You can capture the current picture by holding the YELLOW button down for longer than 1 second. The picture preview will automatically pop-up if the capture is successful.

Share To…
When you preview the captured picture, you can press the OK button or choose via the mouse pointer to share it via email, Facebook, Twitter etc…

External Connections

Connecting a VCR

These instructions assume that you have already connected your TV to an antenna or a cable TV system. Skip step 1 if you have not yet connected to an antenna or a cable system.

Follow the instructions in Viewing a VCR or Camcorder Tape to view your VCR tape. Each VCR has a different back panel configuration.

When connecting a VCR, match the color of the connection terminal to the cable.

Connecting a Camcorder

The rear panel jacks on your TV make it easy to connect a camcorder to your TV. They allow you to view the camcorder tapes without using a VCR.
Each Camcorder has a different back panel configuration.

Connecting a DVD Player/Blu-Ray Player/Set-Top Box via HDMI

This connection can only be made if there is an HDMI output connector on the external device.

What is HDMI?
HDMI, or high-definition multimedia interface, is a next-generation interface that enables the transmission of digital audio and video signals using a single cable without compression.
The multimedia interface is a more accurate name for it especially because it allows multiple channels of digital audio (5.1 channels).

The difference between HDMI and DVI is that the HDMI device is smaller in size, has the HDCP (High Bandwidth Digital Copy Protection) coding feature installed, and supports multi-channel digital audio.
Each DVD player/STB has a different back panel configuration. Connect an HDMI Cable between the HDMI1, HDMI2, HDMI3 connector on the TV and the
HDMI connector on the DVD player/Set-Top Box.

Connecting a Digital Audio System

5.1  CH audio is possible when the TV is connected to an external device supporting 1 CH.

Connect a Coaxial Cable between the SPDIF jacks on the TV and the Digital Audio Input jacks on the Digital Audio System. When a Digital Audio System is connected to the SPDIF terminal: Decrease the gain (volume) of the TV, and adjust the volume level with the Digital Audio System’s volume control.

Connecting to PC

Each PC has a different back panel configuration.
Connect a PC Audio Cable between PC AUDIO IN jack on the TV and the Audio Out jack of the soundcard on your computer.
You should set PC software before you connect a PC to your TV (please refer to “PC Display” settings)

Troubleshooting

If you have any problems with your television, please check the suggested solutions below, as these issues may be caused by improper adjustment/setup rather than a malfunction with the unit. If the problem persists, please contact the Kogan customer support team.

Poor picture and sound quality • Try a different channel

No picture or sound in TV status • Try another channel

Picture rolls vertically • Check all connections
Blurred or snowy picture, distorted sound • Check direction, location, and connections  to your antenna
• Issues may be caused by the use of an indoor antenna
Remote control malfunctions • Replace remote control batteries
• Check battery terminals
• Remote is out of range, move closer to TV
• Confirm there are no obstructions between remote and TV
• Make sure the power cord is plugged in
Image is not centered on the screen •          Adjust the horizontal and vertical position
